There are about ten million Chinese in
Thailand and 80% of them speak
Thai and approximately 70 Chinese churches. Most of the
missionaries work in Northern Thailand. Many villagers believe in Buddhism
and Muslim. They rarely heard about Jesus. The drug problems are
alarming due to their rich production of opium. Buddhism
is the major religion in Thailand. We've established churches in the Chinese villages
around Northern Thailand in the early 90s.
Ministries have expanded from Chinese community to Thai community. We
have set up "Christian Chuen Hung Education Centre" in 1994,
working with students and youth ministries. We are reaching out to about
300 Chinese, minority people groups, and youths weekly in this centre. We need
more
missionaries to preach in the nearby villages and involve in youth
ministries.
