So Close Yet So Far

I heard about Tung Lung Island when I first return to Hong Kong as a missionary in the early 1990's. A few of my friends had volunteered to take me on this adventure, yet due to busyness or some unfathomable excuses I have yet to set foot on this island. Earlier this year, I was meeting some people from church a remote ferry terminal for a leisure photographic shoot of a fishing village. Lo and behold, I saw this mobile ticket office for Tung Lung Island! Hong Kong people can be very ingenious; a folding table with a sign became a ticket office!

I was scheduled to go with a friend to Tung Lung Island during Chinese New Year, but got sick so it was rescheduled in March but the rain never stopped. After living in Hong Kong for all these years, sometimes I wonder am I at home or on the mission field? Many things seem so close yet so far just like my visit to Tung Lung Island.
